📋 Product Description
Pantenger Alishan High Mountain Jin Xuan Oolong Tea is a premium loose leaf Taiwanese oolong grown in the misty mountains of Alishan at an elevation of approximately 1,000 meters. Harvested by hand during the Spring 2026 season, this exceptional tea is produced in small batches on a family-owned mountain farm operated by a husband-and-wife team with their own tea factory. Surrounded by protected forest and located among the highest farms in the valley, the garden benefits from an ideal environment for cultivating high-quality oolong. Made from the renowned Jin Xuan (Tai Cha #12) cultivar, this lightly oxidized oolong is celebrated for its naturally creamy character and elegant floral fragrance. Each infusion delivers a silky body with delicate savory notes, subtle sweetness, and the signature buttery finish that has made Jin Xuan famous as "Milk Oolong." No flavorings or additives are used—the smooth, milky profile is a natural expression of the cultivar and careful craftsmanship. Jin Xuan is one of Taiwan's most versatile tea varieties, capable of producing exceptional green, black, roasted, and lightly oxidized oolong teas. In this traditional High Mountain style, it offers a refined balance of freshness, floral complexity, and lingering creaminess, making it equally enjoyable for newcomers discovering Taiwanese oolong and experienced tea enthusiasts. Pantenger sources this tea from Ruili Village in Chiayi County, Taiwan, an area recognized for producing outstanding Alishan High Mountain teas. The farm's small-scale production allows the growers to oversee every stage of cultivation and processing with exceptional attention to detail, resulting in consistently high-quality leaves and remarkable cup character. Brewing Recommendations Western Style: Use 8 g of tea with 300 ml of boiling water (100°C / 212°F). Steep for approximately 4 minutes. Re-steep multiple times and adjust to your preferred strength. Cold Brew: Add 5 g of tea per 1 liter of water. Infuse at room temperature for 2–3 hours or refrigerate overnight for a smooth, refreshing cold brew. Gong Fu Style: Use approximately 10 g of tea for a 150 ml teapot (1:15 leaf-to-water ratio). Brew with boiling water for about 50 seconds, increasing the infusion time with each steep. The leaves can be enjoyed through up to six infusions.
