This is a good-sized mat for me, I'm 5'6" and haven't had any issues staying on the mat during either yoga or floor bodyweight exercising. The mat has two different textures on each side which was great for grip without being annoying. I chose the blue color which is a pretty, almost dusky blue. I thought the design might bother me when I first opened it but I've found that I like the line down the middle to help keep me where I need to be.The thickness was great, especially since I'm using it on hardwood floors. I also used it a thin area rug and had no issues. It cushioned my knees and back well, and worked great either barefoot or with yoga socks. The elastic strap that it comes with is a nice little bonus.I docked a star for the packaging/way it arrived. Upon opening it there is a strong rubber smell, which is expected, but it also let loose a lot of lightweight white debris on my floor. I'm not sure what it is and I was able to clean it up with a handheld vacuum, but with kids and pets in the house it was a little disconcerting. The mat also took a while to get it to lay flat, having to roll it the opposite direction it arrived in, but it still wanted to roll back on itself for a while. My recommendation would be to open the mat outside, and roll it the opposite direction for at least a day or two before you need it.
