I wanted something different from my silver and gold jewelry and the lightweight, high quality Vividoora Indian Red Sandalwood bracelet is a perfect addition. The wood is deep and rich in color and comes with instructions to keep its shine. It is suggested to keep it dry with minimal water exposure however I am a very active person who forgets to take it off for swimming and showering. I haven't noticed any discoloration since wearing and I have been doing so consistently. The bracelet runs very small and is very stretchy. I have a small wrist but a big hand and was afraid I would snap it trying to get on but it didn't fray as I thought it might. It does come with an extra string and a bead to fix it if necessary. My favorite feature is the colored beads. The red and blue stand out beautifully against the patina of the wood. This would make a lovely gift. It comes packaged beautifully in a linen bag and gift box and ready to bring joy to someone's day.
I own many crystals in the form of jewelry as well as tumbled and raw stones. I consider myself “energy curious” — I find calm and intention in wearing and working with stones, even though I’m not deeply versed in energy work as are some of my friends.I was drawn to this bracelet because I liked the idea of a wearable, everyday piece that could help defend against negativity while providing grounding stability, vitality, and emotional courage during stressful situations. I was also really attracted to the idea of the earth energy of wood, especially since all of my other bracelets are stone and crystal.PROS:~ The wood is smooth and dry to the touch. It is not coated with varnish. I tested the extra wood bead they gave in the package for authenticity. The bead is heavy and sunk in water. Rubbing alcohol did not take off any fake coatings or stains and left a bit of reddish orange on my q-tip as it should. In addition, when the bracelet gets wet, it does have a light woodsy smell to it. So it is real, very dense wood.~ Because it is not varnished, there is nothing between you and the material, so nothing will prevent grounding with the bracelet's energy.~ While marketed toward women, this bracelet is truly gender-neutral and looks great on both men and women.~ The neutral colors make it easy to match with almost any outfit, whether casual or more formal. The different textures of the beads add nice visual interest.~ All three materials work together beautifully for grounding and protection. Red sandalwood brings energetic stability, red agate helps build vitality and resilience, and turquoise adds protection and defense.NEUTRAL:~ The turquoise is definitely a stone. It is cool to the touch, and feels like a rock when tapped on. It is hard to know if the turquoise is real or not. It is very small. I rubbed it with alcohol and acetone and no dye came off.~ The agate is cool to the touch and waxy. Holding it up to a bright light showed it is opaque with some irregularities. A knife did not scratch it, so it appears to be real as well.CONS:~ The bracelet is sized towards a smaller wrist. My wrist is about 6in, and it fits me well. There is about an inch extra cord space. The kit comes with extra string and an extra bead so you could potentially make it a tad bigger if you are confident in your knot tying skills. For the price, this is an attractive, well-made bracelet with a simple, everyday aesthetic. It works beautifully as jewelry or a thoughtful casual gift. If you’re looking for a confidence boost or extra protection against negativity, these materials deliver strength, resilience, and active defense.Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase. It mixes well with my other crystal bracelets that I wear on a regular basis. My cons are pretty minor, so I’m giving it 5 stars.
This VIVIDOORA Authentic Indian Small-Leaf Red Sandalwood Bracelet 7mm, is a difficult thing to rate.I really liked the product video on the page showing how this was made. That was so interesting, and I would love to see more products that come with videos showing production of special items like this. Although it may not be indicative of real workers' conditions, which I hope are safe, it certainly did look like a lot of work to make these beads, and was a really fascinating look into how they come into being. It's almost a shame though that they had to cut up the beautiful slice of wood into tiny pieces, but I guess that is the nature of prayer beads. I wonder if there may be a market for the sandalwood slices, without all of the additional labor involved. Clearing other products made from it are of value.I did check the bracelet received, to ensure that the materials are real. The best I can say, is after doing a scratch test, the beads do indeed to appear to be a deep red wood (no scent, but that would be normal for this species), and the stone attached appear to be real stones. I cannot verify what type of stones they are, and particularly those claiming to have turquoise at this type of price range, typically aren't, but rather a dyed howlite - however, since the turquoise stone is very tiny, it may indeed be real. The red stone does appear to plausibly be agate, also.Am someone who is sensitive to energies, and can identify different stones and items of that nature as distinct from each other with eyes closed, just hovering a hand over them and not touching. All I can say is, I notice no particular energy from this. But this is a material I'm not familiar with, and I have worn it for a while now with no ill effects at all, but also no noticed benefit as yet. It may be something that takes a while to work well, or that requires knowledge and someone who is able to practice in the correct faith for these materials. It appears to be a significant material to at least 2 major world faiths. The quality of this seems decent, it appears reasonably durable and sturdy, and may be functional, for those who like the look, or who can feel the type of benefits this is supposed to provide. The size works well enough, although it not adjustable (it does stretch, but very large wrists might be uncomfortable). This is easy to use, easy to assemble, and may be versatile. It’s hard to tell the value for the price though, given that for me, I would have preferred to feel a major benefit - but I'm not knowledgeable enough about how this should feel, or how it might compare to others. I have some experience with other species of sandalwood, and other origin regions of agate and turquoise, and this does not feel like those. I have concerns though that this product is harmful to the environment, and to local people/workers in its country of origin. After doing a search on the internet and reading some major US papers that provide very concerning articles (I can't cite here, but pretty easy to find), I fear that this may be contributing to a very disturbing market of outside companies harming Indian forests and communities, and breaking rules to get this valuable material. This product says the manufacturer is in Hong Kong. That does not inspire confidence at all, given the known issues for red sandalwood in India brought out by companies from this region. So, I would recommend ensuring any item like this is bought fair trade, from a company known to be local to India and working within the local environmental rules, with fair wages and worker conditions. And yes, I'm sure that means the product will cost a lot more than this. But it may also have much stronger and better energy then to be felt when received, if it is an item meant to be shipped outside of its country of origin at all. We are not entitled to the rare resources of other cultures and locations. I did not know about this red sandalwood issue when ordering, however. It is best to be a knowledgeable consumer, when purchasing items of spiritual or energetic significance. Now at least I've learned something. Do some research, before buying any natural materials harvested from any country - but especially from one that is not your own.
With the box and bag this bracelet came in, I could have bought a plastic bracelet and I would have been happy. The packaging alone, was so beautiful and well put together. The bracelet comes with instructions of care and an explanation of what beads consist of. Also, the box comes with extra materials just in case the bracelet gets damaged. The bracelet is easy to pull on and off and it is a one size fits most. It has a strong elastic as the stringing material. The beads are a combination of bass wood and turquoise. This is an overall fantastic value.
