Nice , worth the money
In the last few months I finally have matcha a try and now ai prefer it over coffee. Needless to say that I had been looking for a set to help me make it at home. I love to have glass containers and tend to pick glass over porcelain for my kitchen needs. So this was the perfect set, aesthetically and useful. Easy to use, durable, great quality at a reasonable price. This could even be given as a gift as I get asked about it when friends come over.
Excellent. It is all that I would hope from such a set. The cup itself has a textured bottom which will try its best not to slip despite being made of glass. The glass is beautiful, seamless, and communicates quality. The cloth is stylish. And perhaps my favorite part is the instructions. Previous sets I've ordered have presumed I know how to go about the process. This one doesn't which makes it more giftable.The only thing I would maybe improve is in the packaging itself. They pack it in styrofoam, as you can see in my pictures. That fact reduces the feeling of being "giftable" in some small way and leaves you wishing for more eco-friendliness.
The matcha set looks very nice. I especially like the tasteful designs on the bowl and the cloth. The set wins in visual presentation. The practicality is where some issues arise.The glass for both the bowl and the whisk holder is surprisingly thin—too thin, to the point that I feel like just dropping them in the kitchen sink or gripping them too tightly will cause them to crack. And I’m not a strong person, so that’s a rare sentiment for me to have! I’ve just never come across a glass object THIS thin before. It was shocking to me (I almost thought it was plastic; that’s how thin and light it is!). The use of very little material here tells me that this is how they save money on production costs, so just be aware of that when you’re purchasing.Also, I’ve noticed that the size of the whisk holder is slightly wider than that of my other whisk holder, but the size of the whisk in this set matches that of the whisk from the other set I have (I guess it’s a standard-sized whisk). This means that the whisk holder in this set stretches the whisk out a little more since the holder is slightly too wide. My other whisk holder does a better job of maintaining my whisk’s original shape, so I’ll likely continue using that one.It’s a shame that this set looks so beautiful but doesn’t hold up practically to a ceramic matcha set. If the glass were double the thickness and the whisk holder were the correct size, I would give it five stars and use it every day.
