zkvy7 I got my hand woven mat pre-owned, like new for a really good deal. it made me sneeze for 2 days (i was sleeping on it to be clear so i was in close contact) and then around the third day, it was finally aired out and no longer triggering any symptoms. i use it on carpet in my apartment with a shikibuton. the set up is very comfortable and versatile. i remove my sleep futon padding and fold the tatami mat to use it for pilates, too. the only thing i would change about the tatami mat is having the ability to fold it vertically too, so it is even more compact for travel purposes.
