This has great color, and its not super thin like some other tapestries i've had. Its very big, and really adds to a room. I have this hanging on my dorm ceiling and my roommate has an even larger purple tapestry hanging on the wall, and they don't clash at all. Basically it adds to a room without being too much. Love it.
For the price, this is definitely a great deal. The tapestry is a beautiful print. It came nicely packaged and though there was an odd smell to it, this washed out the first time through the washer with a bit of fabric softener and Tide. I let the tapestry air dry, then ran it through a gentle/warm dryer cycle. The printing is only on one side, and off center such that the edges aren't evenly printed. It is more red than Orange, too. It has a bit of unrefined look to it which lends it a boho sort of style, rather than detracting from its beauty. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the size, the quality, and definitely the price.
I got the twin sized and for the price, you really can't beat it! It adds so much to any space. I honestly feel it is much larger than what I expected a 'twin size' wall hanging to look like, but it covers a good majority of the wall. Pretty design with a thin, breezy material though the patterns and colors are vibrant. Yes, it is a darker navy blue than perhaps anticipated from photos (but many people in reviews mentioned this, so I expected it, and the deeper colors were kind of what I was going for anyhow).I noticed in at least one or two of the 'negative' reviews where people attached pictures, that the 'bad' pictures (where the tapestry appeared to be incredibly faded or where the design was not intricately noticeable), is only the BACK of the tapestry. I noticed it right away. For at first I got disappointed, but then immediately noticed that one side (FRONT of tapestry) is BEAUTIFUL and DETAILED, where the BACK side is more of a dull blend of colors that are similar to the front... so I have NO complaints with that.So it doesn't matter to me at all - some wall tapestries have no color or design on the back anyway. (Nobody SEES it if the goal is to hang on your wall 😉).Very, very pleased! ADDS A LOT to my meditation room / massage studio.Seriously, if you're paying this price, I wouldn't be surprised to see this type of tapestry in a consignment store and it being priced at a MININUM of $49, and probably more. Just kind of silly to purchase a tapestry anywhere else. 😌😊 (Also this company does not ask you/pay you/give a gift incentive to write a review... so I am purely writing this review over my satisfaction). SO, THANK YOU.I only want to purchase more now to fill my work space. 😬 (The mandala tapestry addiction is real)!Because of all my satisfaction, I gave this purchase 5 stars just so everyone could know that it is a great (and inexpensive!) product - HOWEVER, I do want to note one thing I am not pleased with (which many others have also mentioned) and that is the SMELL!! What is up with that? It is just awful and reeks up a small room.Has anyone found a way to effectively get rid of the smell? Also, I want to know if anyone has had experience washing the tapestry? Will the colors fade or bleed? Will it leave my washer/dryer with any funky residues or anything? Just want to know.Otherwise, a fantastic piece of art. Thanks so much.***UPDATE!(many years later)… just going through my reviews:I wanted to revisit the slight “complaint” about the initial smell… because I distinctively remember that whatever odd scent came attached to this product, it very quickly became a non–issue. That “scent” (if that’s even still a relevant issue with any of the packaging) probably seemed like quite a downside at first but in no time at all it definitely vanished (or diminished so much that it was never noticed… by anyone) & just wasn’t an issue at all after hanging out on the wall (probably not a piece of fabric I would’ve wanted to cozy up to on a bed, but hey). It’s 2022 & I no longer have the tapestry when I moved studio spaces back in late 2017 or early 2018 (plus someone loved it so much they literally asked to buy it from me, I remember… while I don’t remember what they offered me but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn if it were at the very least the same $ amount, if not quite a bit more, than the original purchase on Amazon. Not that that would ever be my intention. Just making a statement of its costliness vs appearance.Whenever I gotta spruce up a blank wall somewhere for quick, simple & cheap, it’s good to be reminded of all the fabrics & designs to exist out there (not just mandala tapestries) but of various things hung on the wall that have easily come in handy (and beautifully) for me.I often forget even that, right now, I have a large… (but only a ‘twin size’; displayed horizontally)… piece of fabric (which I think was intended to be a flimsy throw rug, believe it or not) for which I literally got for $4.99 at “FIVE BELOW” (a store I never knew existed until moving to the East Coast). And based on how it’s displayed, I have to giggle whenever someone sees it and says something to the effect of “ahh wow, that’s so pretty” or “where did you find something like this for your wall?!” All in all, my long, ‘round about point is: sometimes the most simplest (or unintentional) things can really bring a space together (and not at the expense of appearing “cheap”) just so long as you get a little creative 🙃🤪 So, when it comes to things like this? Thinking that you have to go big or go home (or spend the most) doesn’t mean the quality or desired look will be drastically different.
I bought two of these tapestries for my 16 yr old daughter's room & she really loves them. She is in the process of redecorating it in what she describes as an eclectic "bo-ho" style. The exotic Indian design of tapestries is perfect. My daughter chose to hang the tapestries on her wall, but definitely could be used as a bed covering for a full size bed. We are actually thinking about ordering more with a different pattern to use as curtains. The beautiful, intricate mandala design includes rings of elephants, donkeys, flowers and birds. The pattern is evenly printed with vivid colors. There are beautiful jewel tones in deep shades of navy blue, teal, sea foam green, orange and dark red.
When it arrived it smelled strongly of dye, but I let it air out with some febreeze. Before I could get it in my wall, I ended up taking a spur of the moment beach trip, and we used this as ground cover. Worked very nicely for that, and was probably good to have it air out some more. It then was stuck in a truck bed toolbox for a week or so, and I've just now got it on my wall. Very happy with the saturated colors and quality for the price. It's not something you'd want to snuggle in, as it's not very soft, but for purely decorative (and beach-practical), it's wonderful.
I was really excited to get this tapestry. My roommate and I looked over quite a few before finally deciding on this one. We were pretty disappointed that the colors weren't too similar to the images provided by the seller. The last image is the only one that seems to be accurate. We wanted something much more subdued and would have chosen something different if we knew it would be so intense. I don't really care much for the color combination honestly. It's more green, red, and blue. Mostly blue. I was expecting mostly purple with some red and blue. It looked a little better once we hung it up, so I'll hang onto it for now. But I really wouldn't have bought it if the images were more true to the colors it actually is.
This tapestry arrived one month early than expected, which was great, and it was wrapped in several layers, making sure it couldnt get damaged on the trip here, which it said it was from India. It was naturally died so it smelled a little funky at first, but the smell wore away. I was going to have it hang over my bed, which is a twin sized top bunk, but it was so big, it took up more then that, and i even had to fold it over a little bit so it didnt cover up my light. It is awesome. It is very pretty and full of blues and greens, pinks and reds and oranges, and a little purple and white. You can flip it over and the colors would be lighter shades, if thats what you prefer. I love it and it was even better than this 75 dollar one i found and was considering buying, so thats saying something. Definitely should get it.
Okay let's start off with I was expecting a light purply color out of this tapestry but it came out to be a dark bluish. I wouldn't take it back because I still like it, but the picture looks a little different than the actual product. Although the pattern included on it is exactly the same as the picture. So maybe the display picture for the product was taken in s different lighting making it look different. A plus is that it is very big and it didn't take long to ship at all! I got it in 2 days. It had a weird smell to it but not super stinky. I do like this tapestry a lot. I put it with lights and they look great together. (a picture with or without lights is included in this review). I recommend this product, just make sure you know the color is darker than the picture. Other than that it is a great purchase.
